Hillcrest Fest

5:45 – 7:30pm

Get ready to celebrate the start of the school year at Hillcrest Fest!  This annual event will be held on Thursday, August 25 6:00-7:30pm.

Funded by the Hillcrest PTA, this back to school festival is an awesome way to kick off the start of the school year.  This year’s festivities will include:

  • Face painting and Hillcrest temporary tattoos
  • Inflatable obstacle courses and bounce houses
  • DJ
  • Free Sno-cones from Kona Ice
  • Free Root Beer, donated by the Zayed family, Leo’s Wines and Spirits
  • Pizza available for purchase from Skuttlebutts
  • Informational tables about committees and clubs (including a rocket launch sponsored by Cub Scouts!)
  • Lots of fun catching up with friends 🙂

The festival will open with a Teacher Meet and Greet.  The Hillcrest teachers will have their classrooms open from 5:45-6:15 for families to briefly stop in classrooms, meet the teacher and drop off school supplies.  Thank you to the staff for making this opportunity available that will help ease first day jitters and chaos for students (and parents!).   Please note that some teachers may not be able to attend the event and will leave a note on the door as to where to leave the supplies. Families who are unable to attend should plan to send school supplies on the first day of school.

Hillcrest Fest is also a great time to share information about clubs, committees and organizations that other families may be interested in.  If you would like a table to display your information, please contact Lisa Kolavennu.

You won’t want to miss this annual celebration-it will be a blast!  But we need your help to make it successful.  We will need adult volunteers to help set up, supervise events, paint faces, etc.  Shifts are only 30-45 minutes in length so you will have plenty of time to socialize before/after your shift.

Please feel free to e-mail us with any questions.  AND PLEASE SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER!  We look forward to seeing everyone on August 25!
