2025 Hillcrest PTA Alumni Scholarship Recipient: Brooke Spindler

Congratulations to Brooke Spindler, a graduating senior from Downers Grove South and proud Hillcrest alum, on receiving the $1,500 Hillcrest PTA Alumni Scholarship! Brooke is headed to Purdue University to pursue her dream of becoming a pediatric nurse.

Beyond academics, Brooke is a dedicated athlete, leader, and volunteer. As a middle blocker in volleyball, she helped her teams excel at both conference and national levels and earned the “Most Perseverant” award. She also supported her teams as a volleyball manager and athletic trainer assistant. Outside of sports, Brooke leads PE classes for younger and special education students, volunteers at her church, and works in child care, customer service, and recreation—all demonstrating her strong work ethic, leadership, and commitment to helping others.

Brooke’s dedication to learning, teamwork, and service will undoubtedly lead her to great success in nursing and beyond. Congratulations, Brooke!

Each year, one Hillcrest Elementary alumnus will receive a one-time scholarship to supplement tuition or other educational needs. Representatives of the Hillcrest PTA choose the recipient based upon a holistic set of criteria.

To qualify, a senior must:

Have attended Hillcrest Elementary School for a minimum of three years
Be graduating from an Illinois high school
Have already received acceptance to a college, university, or vocational program
