The Celebrations Tree is an annual tradition that honors different religions and celebrations during the winter season. A tree is donated to the school and each grade is assigned a holiday. Parent volunteers lead a short lesson about the holiday’s origins and purpose and then the class makes an ornament to honor those traditions. You are welcome to volunteer in your Hound Dogs’ classroom or another Hillcrest classroom corresponding to a holiday that your family celebrates. Find project instructions and volunteer sign-up here.
The tree is decorated and lit in time for Hillcrest Holiday Shop on December 5-6. Make sure to stop by and see all the creative ornaments! Note: Ornaments will not be automatically saved, but if your child would like to save theirs, they can remove it from the tree on Friday, December 19 before winter break.
